Hong Kong Disneyland (June 2018)

Since MBS kept true to her goal of getting a gold merit award on the 4th grading of her K1 journey (Yay!), I had to keep my word of granting her wish - a trip to Hong Kong Disneyland.

We arrived at HKIA around 5:30pm and had our dinner first before heading to the happiest place in the world.

I loved that they cut the noodles for the kids so they won't have a hard time eating!

After filling our tummies, we headed off to the taxi area. HK taxis are set into three categories or colors, depending on the area: red for urban/city areas, blue for Lantau island, and green for New Territories. All three colors can bring us HK Disneyland. However, the red one is a bit more expensive than the green and blue ones. We took the green taxi. The ride to the Disneyland Explorer's Lodge cost us 147 HKD.

Finally, we checked into HK Disneyland's Explorer Lodge!

Hong Kong Disneyland offers three hotel choices: Disneyland Hotel, Hollywood Hotel, and Explorer's Lodge. We chose to stay at the Explorer's Lodge due to its good reviews, great looking pictures, and mostly, because it was the most recent one built. It did not disappoint.

We arrived at the Explorer's Lodge around 7:30pm. Since we booked and paid for our 3D2N stay through Hotels.com, check-in was a breeze. We were able to get cheaper rates at the website and got to avail additional discounts with our BDO credit card.

The concierge gave us 2 Fast Pass coupons for certain rides and a map of the hotel. Yes, a map! That's how big the hotel is - 4 gardens situated at each corner signifying each wing of the hotel, a tear drop swimming pool, and 7 floors. Whew!

The map also indicated activities being held by the hotel. We were just in time for an 8:00pm activity for MBS and LM to enjoy. It was a welcoming experience too as the activity leaders shifted from Cantonese to English to Mandarin when giving out instructions - finding Hidden Mickeys, finding certain patterns, and getting stickers as prizes!

The activity lasted for 30 minutes, and we headed back to our room. We had initially planned to take a dip in the pool that night, but the weather did not cooperate. It rained buckets, so the kids had fun watching Disney shows in the room instead.

We had the buffet breakfast at the Dragon Wind restaurant the following morning. The breakfast wasn't inclusive in the room price, so it was a pretty expensive breakfast. But the trade off was that we could have our picture taken with Mickey and Minnie without the long lines and the rushing.

I was surprised to see that LM was very happy with this encounter. I had no idea he loved mascots! And it was good that they gave ample time to each family to interact with the mascots.

Hearty breakfast to start the day right :)

And so our day began. :)

This girl can survive anywhere that has corn. haha :)

The rain was on and off throughout our stay in the park. Thankfully, the kids still had fun since we brought their boots, raincoats, and hats. Planning ahead really does have its benefits, like being ready and not losing my cool. :) Plus, it was good to have the chance to see Disneyland in a different (rainy) light.

Our last morning in HK Disneyland was spent playing in the pool and getting ready to transfer to our Airbnb for the next leg of our trip. :)

So long, HongKong Disneyland. Till our next trip! :)

Baguio City 2017 - Day 3

DAY 3 Here's a glimpse (with pictures) of what the inside of our rented house at St. Patrick looks like. The house can be rented for Php 18,000 a night. It was pricey for our small group, but would have been worth it for a bigger group.  Room# 1 at Lower Ground CR inside Room # 1 Stairs going to the main floor Living room (Main door is on the right) Dining room just across the living room Kitchen (Pots and pans, knives, chopping board, plates, utensils, rice cooker, water dispenser with 5 Gal water, water kettle are all provided.) Room # 2 at Main floor CR just outside Room # 2 Stairs leading to 2nd Floor Room# 3: Master's Bedroom (there's a CR inside) Room # 4 across the Master's Bedroom (CR located beside the room) Stairs going to Attic St. Patrick Village was nice enough to hold my downpayment for 1 year. We were supposed to go last year, but we had a family emergency.  I was really charmed by this place (...

NAIA 2 and its Infant Feeding Station

A few weeks ago, I had to travel to Canada without MBS.  With the long haul flight and being outside my own comfort zone, I realized I was going to have a hard time with pumping and breast milk handling. Thoughts of where I was going to pump, how I was going to pump (in public areas) worried me.  So, I'd have to say that I was immensely happy when I saw the Infant Feeding Station at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2. The station is located at the left end of the waiting area after you pass the carry-on luggage X-ray and metal detector.  The sign of the station was a bit hard (for me) to see because firstly, I have blurry vision and secondly, the sign was way smaller than the MASSAGE sign beside it.  But the station was truly a welcome sight, esp. since it's air-conditioned inside. I got a chance to beat the warm temperature in the waiting area for a while. :) Hopefully someday, all airports will soon be equipped with their o...
