Dress Shopping at Baby Fashionistas

My sister's wedding is nearing! And MBS is going. That means dress shopping! :)  When I attended the birthday party of Baby B , I knew that I had to take a look at her dress supplier - Baby Fashionistas . I found a branch at Level 2 of Robinson's Magnolia.  The dresses were all so cute! And I loved the softness of the dresses, which meant MBS won't have an itchy time when wearing the dress.  A couple of dresses were on sale, but they didn't have sizes below 12 months. I did, however, see a dress that I fell in love with immediately. :) And, the best thing is, they had a 6-12 month size! :)  I can't wait to see MBS wear her dress! :) A moment to look forward to. :D Tulle Mocha with Brooch

Dinner at Goose Station

It's been some time since MH and I had time for our selves. With MBS in tow, we've got our schedule's filled to the brim. I'm not complaining, though. :) It just makes a date night like this much more appreciated.  MH bought vouchers from Deal Grocer for the Goose Station a while back. We were supposed to use it for dinner with his friends. However, we had a family dinner we had to attend to when his friends met up. So, we had to go another time.  It was nice to go out on a date again, esp. for a semi-fine dining one. :) The voucher we got was for a sampler menu, so the servings  were pretty small but they all tasted good.  Here are a few pictures of what we had.  ze menu :) foie gras cône - this was surprisingly tasty :) my favorite among all the courses served tuna crudo - this was so, so. i liked the raspberry vinaigrette though :) trio of brushcette - the chicken liver was the tastiest :) the salmon was so,so. egg and sweet po...

Youji & Me Clearance Sale

While browsing Facebook, I chanced upon Youji & Me having a clearance sale ! :)  I love clearance or warehouse sales. They mean 50% off the original price, or sometimes even more. :) It's too bad the company didn't give a clearance sale before MBS was born. If they did, it would've saved us a lot of money.  The crib and playpen MBS uses now were both bought from Youji & Me by MBS's grandparents.  From what i've gathered, it's part of Chinese tradition that the mom-side grandparents of the baby have to buy the crib. It's also tradition not to assemble the crib before the baby arrives. In our case though, we had the crib assembled when it was delivered to our place. We didn't put on the sheets yet though. We waited for MBS to come out before doing that.  The initial plan was to put the crib at our place and the playpen at MBS's grandparents' place. However, both crib and playpen were put to use at our place. So, MH and I decided to bu...

Baby wearing

Babywearing became one of my goals when MBS came into the world. Why? Because it looked fun. And I could do other things with my hands free.  I found out that I had lots of baby carrying options; there were ring slings, pouches, wraps, etc. I had a hard time deciding which one I would go for.  Ring slings - I didn't want to get. No matter how many articles I've read about ring slings being safe and comfortable and really great to use, I just couldn't get myself to stop imagining MBS falling when one of the rings got loose. Still, I do think the "ring sling" carrier is good to use since I've seen people in the mall using it, but I guess it just isn't for me. The pouch, on the other hand, gave me images of MBS turning sakang or bone legged. Most pictures of people using the pouch had the baby's legs separated by the carrier's hip bone. When a few elders saw these pictures, they advised me to go for the wrap instead.  I had two choices for th...

First Kiddie Party

MBS attended her first ever kiddie party today. It was the 1st birthday party of Mrs. Martinez's daughter. The theme of the party was Lalaloopsy. Apparently, Lalaloopsy is a show on Nick Jr. about rag dolls who magically come to life (as searched on Google).  Seems to me that I have to start picking up on my kiddie show knowledge.  a Lalaloopsy doll (from Google images) MBS attended her first kiddie party today.  She seemed surprised to see so many kids in one place. She looked at the other kids as if there were no tomorrow. With those ogling eyes, she wouldn't sleep throughout the party. Her eyelids were getting heavy, but she had so much to see and take in. MBS is such a curious kid. She did fall asleep for a few minutes before waking up again, though.  MBS doesn't understand the games and magic shows yet.Throughout the performance, she stared  intently at the balloons and lights on the ceiling. In a few years, MBS will be the one r...

Look what came in the mail today... :D

Time to  try it on MBS!!!! :)  My orders from Celestina & Co. Head bands and beanies galore :) Turquoise Beanie with Dr. Seuss Korker Bow (Round) on MBS :) Just tried on 1 mix-and-match since it was night time already :)  Will try the others on MBS soon :)

Milestone : MBS can hold her toy already!!! :)

Had fun with MBS tonight :)  She can grab/hold her toy already!!! :)  Was reading about the growth of babies - MBS should have been starting to hold or grab objects at three months. I've been wondering why she didn't hold on to the toys being given to her. Found out the reason tonight - she always had her mittens on. >_<  Major fail on my part. >_< Took off her mittens tonight and let her play with "Orange-y" :)  My Snow Bear :) MBS = love :) MBS can grab her toy "Orange'y" already!!! :)

Head bands

Head bands are a MUST in accessorizing baby girls nowadays. Of course, MBS is no exception. My sister-in-law has showered MBS with loads of head bands. But with MBS being my first born, "loads" has never been enough. :)  I don't have the luxury of going malling every now and then since I need to save up milk for MBS. So, I do what most first-time moms do - surf the net high and low for whatever cute or cool stuff they see online. :) And as of the moment, for me, that is looking for head bands :) When I found the site of Celestina & Co . , I became such a happy person. :) There were so many choices of head bands and beanies! I love to play dress up with MBS, so going through the site and imagining MBS wearing the head bands made my day. :)  Most head bands leave a mark on the head of MBS, which causes panick for me since I imagine her head being squished. So, I purchased a few cloth-lined head bands from Celestina & Co. just to see if there will be a ...

A lazy Sunday well spent.

As much as I love it when MBS is awake, I treasure these down moments when she's already asleep.  Cooked breakfast with My Husband this morning - the classic bacon and eggs :) I cooked the bacon; he cooked the eggs. MH has a real knack for cooking; he turns the simplest ingredients into restaurant-level dishes. In this case, it was the eggs - scrambled with pepper, salt, and green onions cooked to perfection :)  We cooked as Yaya gave MBS her morning bath. One of my favorite daily chores is picking an outfit for MBS, esp. when we plan to go out. This afternoon was scheduled to be spent at my parents' place. Today, I let MBS wear leggings with cow prints and a sleeveless onesie top paired with bumble bee shoes - the entire outfit pieces were hand-me-downs from my now 16 year old cousin. :)  During the car ride to my parents' place, MBS kept turning her head from MH to me. It was obvious that she was sleepy, but didn't want to miss a thing. MH dozed off after a few ...
